Turkey's TPAO drills on N Cyprus

State-owned Turkish upstream operator TPAO began drilling for oil and natural gas on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus on April 26.. Drilling Turkyurdu 1 near Gazimagusa (Faramagusta) on the north of the island was attended by Turkish energy minister Taner Yildiz. Earlier in April, Turkish state news agency Anatolian reported that TPAO had begun shipping 200 truckloads of equipment to the ports of Girne (Kyrenia) and Gazimagusa (Faramagusta) ahead of drilling a well in the village of Sinirustu.
