FERC plans to prepare environmental assessments forrnseveral US natural gas pipeline projects and has soughtrncomments on the issues it should evaluate during itsrnreview of these projects. Under the NationalrnEnvironmental Policy Act, a federal agency may decide tornprepare an EA rather than a more thoroughrnenvironmental impact statement if a project is notrnexpected to cause significant environmental impacts.
