摘要

Bond market professionals in Greater China are pushing regulators to create a fixed-income trading link between the onshore and offshore markets on the back of the success of Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect. A two-way "Bond Connect" trading platform would offer an unprecedented opportunity to modernise China's US$6trn bond market, the world's third-largest, and provide many offshore investors access to mainland credits for the first time. "We are definitely in serious discussions about Bond Connect," Patrick Pang, managing director and head of fixed income and compliance at the Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, or Asifma, which represents many of the largest financial institutions.
