Vedanta eyes first trust IPO

India's vedanta resources is mulling a listing of an infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) of its power transmission assets, in a move that would introduce a new asset class to the country's capital markets. Pratik Agarwal, Vedanta's director for infrastructure business, revealed the listing plan to IFR last week in an interview. Agarwal did not indicate the IPO size, but said the group currently had commissioned power transmission assets of US$1bn and assets under commission of US$500m.
