FCA gets tough with sponsor

Cenkos securities has been fined £530,500 by the Financial Conduct Authority for failing to properly carry out its role as sponsor of a proposed move in 2014 of insurance outsourcing company Quindell from the UK's junior market to the main bourse. The UK market regulator said that Cenkos had told it that Quindell was eligible to switch from AIM to the main board, when it had not carried out due diligence to ensure this was correct.
