US ABS frenzy met by strong demand

Investors tore into more than US$10.5bn of new asset-backed paper offered in the busiest week for primary issuance in nearly two years, according to IFR data. All bond deals were heavily oversubscribed, reflecting strong demand for paper following a near two-week issuance lull, and a scramble for debt with a pick-up to other, similarly rated securities.
