Citi seeks to lift equity trading share to 7%-9%

Citigroup's efforts to steal market share in equity trading may be harder than the bank was expecting when it announced goals to beef up its equity trading group, but it remains intent on taking market share. While Citigroup is looking to boost its haul, so is every other bank - and some of its competitors in the space have walked away from trading fixed income to intensify their focus on equities.
