Baxter International caps public portion of Baxalta sell-down

Baxter international has nearly completed its quest to dispose of the remainder of its baxalta equity before its former subsidiary merges with shire later this year. A US$2.41bn debt-for-equity exchange last week was the final public market instalment of Baxter's exit plan with the second-largest equity offering in US ECM this year. The deal was well telegraphed after Baxter told attendees at a recent healthcare conference its second Baxalta sell-down of 2016 was "imminent".
