Rising threat to renminbi loans

Soaring interbank lending rates have become hurdles in China's syndicated loan market, shutting out potential lenders and leaving borrowers facing higher interest costs. The Shanghai interbank offered rate for maturities of three and six months reached two-year highs of 4.5338% and 4.4368%, respectively, last Thursday, up more than 100bp since the start of the year.
