Beleaguered aluminium producer china HONGAIAO GROUP LTD has obtained a waiver from lenders for a US$700m syndicated loan raised in June last year allowing the company more time to publish its financial accounts and for a continued suspension in the trading of its shares. Hongqiao has now received the required two-thirds majority consent from lenders for the waiver this week after failing to win the same by an earlier deadline of April 3. Sources said Hongqiao extended the deadline to April 21.
