Ukraine must recover Privatbank assets

Ukraine must ensure H155bn (US$5.7bn) in loans made to parties connected with privatbank's former major shareholder Igor Kolomoisky are repaid as part of a condition for receiving further funds from the International Monetary Fund. The new condition was included in the latest review of the country's US$17.5bn IMF programme, published on Tuesday. The review, which allows a further US$1bn to be disbursed, had been delayed until after Ukraine had nationalised Privatbank, its largest lender, at the end of last year.
