Loan funds dodge UK uncertainty and look towards Europe

Direct lending funds are turning away from a fully tapped UK market and towards continental Europe as European buyout firms become more comfortable with alternative sources of capital outside the traditional banking channels. The UK has historically dominated the private debt market, accounting for 40% of deals completed in Europe according to Deloitte, significantly ahead of France and Germany, but lenders are reporting more deals being originated from outside the UK.
