Greatship (india) has closed a US$249m seven-year loan that introduces a first-time foreign investor to Indian loans and a structure that paves the way for other borrowers to venture overseas. The offshore oil services unit of Great Eastern Shipping, India's biggest private sector shipping company, signed the deal with four banks after overcoming significant challenges around sentiment for the sector, the long tenor and regulations.
