Kenya unfazed by Treasury wobbles

KENYA brushed off a sell-off in Treasuries, as a decent lead time with accounts and a capped issue size helped the sovereign to place its US$1bn January 2034 bond issue at an attractive rate on Thursday. Wednesday's FOMC meeting and the suggestion of a hawkish shift from the Federal Reserve led to the yield on the 10-year Treasury jumping 10bp to 1.59%, but bankers were confident that would not stall Kenya's progress.
