STANDARD CHARTERED has changed its corporate finance team to absorb it into the larger global credit markets business and create three new groups, with the aim of bringing all credit origination and distribution functions under one roof. Financing risk, financing solutions, and leveraged and acquisition finance are the new verticals created, which has also led to the M&A business being transferred out of corporate finance into the industries group within client coverage banking. Other teams for shipping, project and export finance have moved into global credit markets to sit alongside credit trading and capital markets.
