The prices of bonds and equity in troubled UK consumer lender AMIGO have surged in recent weeks as a scheme of arrangement that will cap compensation claims from a million past and present customers looks increasingly likely to be approved at a creditors' meeting on Wednesday. Amigo listed in London in June 2018 when existing shareholders raised £327m at 280p a share. But last June the share price touched a nadir of 4.8p after the Financial Conduct Authority launched an investigation into the company's operations. The investigation is still ongoing.
