Gulf borrowers look to join SLL party

A pipeline of environmental, social and corporate governance-linked loans is building in the Middle East, as borrowers in the region increasingly look to follow the example set in Europe, where sustainability-linked lending has been on a charge for several months. Dubai's state-owned bank EMIRATES NBD enjoyed an enthusiastic response among lenders as its first ESG-linked loan was increased to US$1.75bn from US$1bn as a result of oversubscription.
