MOELIS rounded out the earnings season for independent investment banks with record revenue for the fourth quarter and year, thanks to a rebound in M&A closings and a booming market for restructuring. "We had a great year in M&A, and we had a great year in restructuring," Moelis chief executive Ken Moelis told analysts. Moelis reported fourth-quarter revenues of US$422m, up 89% from the prior year. For 2020, the bank's revenue hit US$943m, up 26% from 2019. It was the bank's best quarter and best year ever.
