Investors build up ESG appetite

Global investors have accelerated environmental, social and governance investments in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, with more than three-quarters of investors polled in a major survey saying they had increased investments. MSCI, which surveyed 200 global investors with US$18trn of assets under management, said 77% of the sovereign wealth funds, insurers, endowments' foundations and pension funds surveyed said that they had increased ESG investments in response to the crisis, and 73% said they plan to increase ESG investment by the end of 2021.
