After 37 years, Citi EM chief Rehman calls time

Atiq Rehman, head of emerging markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at CITICROUP, is retiring after 37 years at the US bank. Citi said Rehman will stay until it has appointed his successor as head of the EMEA emerging markets cluster, and it has started the search process. Rehman has been a driving force behind the growth of Citi's emerging markets franchise, and has led the EMEA EM business since that structure was formed in 2019. It covers activities in 29 countries, and Rehman has managed several of the bank's most important client relationships in the region and led a number of franchise-defining transactions, EMEA CEO David Livingstone said in a memo to staff, seen by IFR.
