LafargeHolcim follows Enel with sustainable CP

LAFARCEHOLCIM has set up an inaugural €3bn sustainability-linked euro commercial paper programme, mirroring a similar move by Italian utility ENEL this year, as more companies consider linking their short-term funding to sustainability goals. The world's largest cement company will have to stop issuing the notes if its ESG risk rating falls out of the top 25% given by Sustainalytics to companies in the construction materials sector - not an especially testing target given that it currently ranks LafargeHolcim first out of 101 peers. In the unlikely event that LafargeHolcim does fall out of the top 25% it will be required to publicise that fact.
