Fed extends bank buybacks ban

The US FEDERAL RESERVE extended its cap on bank dividends and the full halt on stock buyback programmes through the end of the year, citing "continued economic uncertainty from the coronavirus response". The Fed capped bank dividends at the end of the second quarter - hurting investors of the largest US banks, including JP Morgan, Bank of America and Citigroup.
