Fitch downgraded Argentina's PROVINCE OF ENTRE RIOS to C from CCC last after it missed a payment on its 8.75% dollar bond due 2025. The borrower said it would miss the US$21.875m interest payment on the bonds due August 8 and start debt negotiations, the ratings agency said. "Failure to cure the missed interest payment before the 30-day cure period expires on September 7 2020, is considered an event of default in the transaction documents," said Fitch. Entre Rios is one of several Argentine provinces that have stopped making bond payments on foreign law bonds and are trying to renegotiate terms.
