Shrinking HSBC equities arm gets new chief

HSBC is pushing on with plans to restructure its misfiring equities business into a leading emerging markets house, and has named Franck Lacour to run the business. HSBC last week promoted Lacour to global head of equities to replace Hossein Zaimi, the Hong Kong-based equities chief who is leaving after 16 years at the bank. The change is expected to take place at the end of August. Lacour is head of HSBC's French markets business and will retain that role until a replacement is found, according to a memo to staff seen by IFR.
