Despite rising leverage, corporate debt worries dissipate

US high-grade corporate leverage is up year over year in defiance of the warning signs investors sent ringing through the markets in the fourth quarter 2018 on fears of massive volumes of debt falling to high-yield. Yet less than a year removed from the volatility, investors feel much of the leverage concerns have been addressed and that downgrade risk is substantially lessened.
