FLOOR &DECOR HOLDINCS turned its strong operating momentum into an outsized US$185m IPO, distancing itself from ingrained perceptions about the nature of its business and achieving a tech-like pricing outcome. Its 52% first-day gain is the best from a US IPO this year, surpassing this year's hottest tech deals MuleSoft and Snap which rose 45% and 44% respectively on their first trading days.
