Four companies seized an opportunity amid the coronavirus crisis to raise a combined US$584m from follow-on offerings in Hong Kong and Singapore last week, showing that the equity markets remain open for companies in the right sectors. The spread of the virus has slammed the brakes on dealmaking in Asia, where Chinese issuers have been forced to postpone roadshows because of travel restrictions and many other issuers have called off face-to-face investor meetings in Hong Kong while containment measures are in place.
