Field clear for Commerzbank AT1 debut

A clear regulatory framework and the breakdown of merger talks with Deutsche Bank left the path clear for commerzbank to line up an inaugural Additional Tier 1 in what will be one of the most eagerly awaited capital markets debuts. The German lender mandated Barclays, Commerzbank, HSBC, JP Morgan and UBS for the perpetual non-call April 2025. Meetings began last Thursday, with launch expected as early as this week.
