Standard Bank takes advantage of scarcity value

Standard bank sliced more than 40bp off its debut Tier 2 offering in the international market on Wednesday, a US$400m 10-year non-call five note, as the South African lender priced the bonds inside fair value. Bank capital issuance, generally, has been relatively lacklustre amid an otherwise busy time for financial institutions in the US dollar and euro markets.
