New Agricole investment banking head

CREDIT AGRICOLE has appointed Didier Gaffinel, who previously headed coverage of the luxury sector, as head of global coverage and investment banking. Gaffinel is based in Paris and reports to Jacques Ripoll, chief executive. Gaffinel started in banking as an equity analyst with HSBC in London in 1988 and then spent three years in Total's treasury division. He joined the Credit Agricole group in 1992, taking roles in the leveraged buyout division and M&A department. From 1998 to 2011 he held senior positions in equity capital markets in Agricole's investment bank. In 2011 he was put in charge of big French clients in the luxury and retail sectors, and has been in charge of the luxury sector since late-2013.
