Beijing — China's manmade fiber industry has faced many difficulties since 1996 as a result of undue expansion of production capacity worldwide, the Asian financial crisis, illegal trade and smuggling in China. Although the output of manmade fibers continues to increase year by year, the sale price has fallen sharply, resulting in declining profits and even heavy losses for many enterprises.
