DuPont Revs Up Global Marketing Push For Sorona 'Smart' Polymer

The apparel industry may be one step closer to finding a single polymer that gives clothing the performance attributes consumers worldwide say they want. This fall, DuPont launched a global rollout of its Sorona~(TM) 3GT, a polymer that has been nearly 50 years in research and development and has generated 150 patents along the way to commercialization. The polymer will compete mainly with nylon in everything from men's dress slacks to lingerie and sportswear. "Expect to see end products on shelves in Asia before Christmas, and in Europe and USA shortly thereafter," said Joe Carroll, Global Business Manager for DuPont's Sorona, in an interview with International Fiber Journal.
