Eco Certification of Textiles Gains Interest

An international testing and certification organization that labels textiles as safe for human use has opened a US office to help North American manufacturers become more competitive, particularly in exporting. Global demand for certification by the Zurich-based Oeko-Tex Association is being pushed by a new generation of consumers willing to pay more for products that protect health and the environment, said the organization's General Secretary, Raimar Freitag.
