U.K. Government Highlights Research Areas Intended to Inform Waste Strategy Program

London—The British government Sept. 19 outlined key areas where it will commission research to inform its Waste Strategy program, launched May 2007. The United Kingdom's Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs said the Waste and Resources Evidence Strategy 2007-2011, part of its Waste and Resources Evidence Program (WREP), is intended to ensure that waste and resources policies are "evidence based, not evidence backed." It is the second of such research programs, the first commencing in 2004.
