Southeast Asian Ministers Agree On Steps to Fight Regional Haze

Cebu, Philippines—Southeast Asian environment ministers Nov. 11 agreed to establish "binding measures" to combat the polluted haze that engulfs parts of the region each year.rnPhilippine Environment Secretary Angelo Reyes, who chaired a three-day meeting in this central resort island, said the ministers arrived at a consensus for "binding measures to solve the recurring haze problem affecting the region." Those binding measures will in-rnclude establishing a "transboundary environment law enforcement network," he said.
