U.S., Japan Environment Ministers Agree to Promote 'Co-Benefit' Projects

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Stephen Johnson and Japanese Environment Minister Ichiro Kamoshita agreed May 24 to strengthen cooperation to promote low-carbon societies and "co-benefit" projects in third world countries as part of an international agreement to succeed the Kyoto Protocol.
