Advisory Panel Backs Auditor, Advocate Roles of Canada's Environment Commissioner

Canada's Federal Auditor General Sheila Fraser Jan. 21 accepted all of the recommendations of an expert panel on her agency's mandate to audit and review the federal government's environmental and sustainable development policies. The Green Ribbon Panel she appointed last spring recommended changes to the Office of the Auditor General's environmental audit processes, and the agency is preparing a plan to implement those recommendations, Fraser said in a statement.
