摘要

Recent changes in international law will provide better protection to the developing world against receiving unwanted waste from richer nations, the U.K. government said in a release Jan. 11. Regulations covering the shipment from the European Union of nonhazardous recyclable materials, known as "green list" waste, were updated to record the wishes of those countries—not part of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development—that had "expressed an opinion about the recyclable materials they would like to receive," the U.K. government said.
