France Presents Plan to Spend $8 Billion To Develop Green Technology Businesses

France's top environment official Feb. 11 presented a strategy that would involve spending at least €6 billion ($8.15 billion) to develop new sources of economic growth and jobs from 18 green technologies.rnJean-Louis Borloo, minister of ecology, energy, sustainable development, and the sea, said a government plan to raise up to €50 billion ($67.9 billion) through a so-called grand bond issue would funnel some €10 billion ($13.6 billion) for sustainable development.
