OECD Papers Look at Tax Role in Promoting Environmental Policies, Ecological Innovation

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Jan. 22 released two research papers considering, among other things, taxation's role in promoting government policies on environment and ecological innovation.rnThe first paper looked at the impact of taxation, trad-able emissions permits, subsidies, and other government tools on eco-innovation generally. The second looked at impacts that motor vehicle fuel taxes and fuel efficiency standards have had on car-related innovation and emissions abatement.
