Finland Expands Annual Tax Refunds For Country's Energy-Intensive Industries

Tax refunds for energy-intensive industry in Finland will expand in 2013 by an estimated €120 million ($162 million) per year under a "framework agreement" reached by the government, industry, and trade unions. The Nov. 28 agreement includes a number of energy tax adjustments originally proposed in the country's 2012 budget plan, including an extension of rebates on fuel oil taxes for the agricultural industry.
