LIMA, Peru-Peru's energy and mining regulatory agency, Osinergmin, Aug. 23 concluded its third public tender for nonconventional renewable en ergy projects, selecting 10 new projects to receive guar anteed purchase contracts. Osinergmin had pre-qualified 27 companies or con sortiums for 37 projects. These included 16 small hy droelectric plants, 13 solar projects, six wind farms, and two biomass projects using either agro-industrial resi dues or solid waste. The tender called for up to 681 gigawatt-hours per year (GWh/year) from hydroelectric plants, 593 GWh/year from biomass using agro-industrial by-products, 429 GWh/year from wind farms, 235 GWh/year from biomass using urban waste, and 43 GWh/year from solar projects.
