摘要

The United States and Mexico March 3 reaffirmed their commitment to address climate change and develop clean energy technologies following a White House meeting between Presidents Obama and Felipe Calderon. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed climate change initiatives, plans to map carbon sinks, and cooperation on cross-border electricity reliability programs. President Obama in a statement praised President Calderon's leadership during the December 2010 U.N. climate change talks in Cancun, Mexico, which resulted in the creation of a Green Climate Fund to help the most vulnerable poorer nations adapt to rising sea levels and other climate change effects (34 INER 54, 1/5/11).
