European Commission Again Delays Review Of Air Quality Law, Pushes Date to 2012

A long-delayed review of a European Union air quality law will now not take place before 2012 and could even be pushed back to 2013, the European Commission said Jan. 19. Commission environment spokesman Joe Hennon told BNA that a decision was made to delay the review of the National Emissions Ceilings (NEC) Directive (2001/81/EC) because the Commission wanted to "look at it in the bigger picture" and consider its revision alongside a number of other policy initiatives.
