European Commission Issues Infringement Notices, Takes Greece to EU Court of Justice

The European Commission Jan. 27 threatened several EU member states with court action in 14 cases of breaches of EU environmental law. Most of the cases concerned infringements of legislation relating to water resources and nature conservation. Warnings also related to the implementation of laws on obsolete vehicles and the updating of lists of permitted biocides.
