French Agency Recommends Monitoring For Brominated Flame Retardant in Foods

A French government agency has recommended continued monitoring of chicken eggs, poultry meat, and other animal foodstuffs based on findings of high levels of contamination with the brominated flame retardant hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD). It said if the high levels are confirmed, authorities should conduct research to determine the origin of the contamination.
