WTO Director-General Appoints Panelists To Rule on China Rare Earths Complaints

World Trade Organization Director-General Pascal Lamy has appointed three dispute panelists to rule on complaints filed by the United States, the European Union, and Japan against China's export restrictions on rare earths. Rare earths are used as key inputs in a multitude of U.S. manufacturing sectors and American-made products, including hybrid car batteries, wind turbines, solar panels, and energy-efficient lighting.
