Governance Experts Urge Adoption of New Global Environmental Framework at Rio+20

A group of 32 experts called for a fundamental overhaul of the international environmental governance system to prevent potential disasters caused by crossing planetary tipping points in an article published March 16 in the journal Science. The experts are from such institutions as Lund University in Sweden, the Fridjof Nansen Institute in Norway, Colorado State University, Yale University, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology and are associated with the Earth System Governance research project.
