British Columbia's Oil and Gas Commission and the energy company Encana Corp. are violating the province's Water Act through the repeated use of short-term water approvals for hydraulic fracturing, environmental groups said in a lawsuit filed Nov. 13 in the province's Supreme Court (Western Canada Wilderness Comm. v. Oil and Gas Comm'n, B.C. S.C., Vancouver Registry S-138403, 11/13/13).
