摘要

House and Senate lawmakers are meeting to reconcile differences on bills to implement a U.S.Mexico maritime boundary agreement that likely will retain new financial reporting requirements on U.S. energy companies requiring annual disclosure of payments made to foreign governments. House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) told Bloomberg BNA Oct. 23 that no decision has been made yet on whether the House will drop a provision in its bill (H.R. 1613) exempting the energy industry from the reporting requirements (36 INER 1467, 10/23/13). Others speculate that the House provision will not stand in the way of congressional approval of the U.S.Mexico agreement by the end of 2013.
